An excellent scientific program awaited the 200 participants of this year’s ITI Congress Taiwan in Taipei which ran under the title “Implant Dentistry in the Digital World”. Three international speakers as well as two former ITI Scholars, two ITI Fellows and Members from Taiwan presented their latest research findings to the audience and made the congress a great success.
Among the international speakers was Klaus Lang (Hong Kong) who addressed novel aspects of osseointegration as well as the challenges and risks associated with immediate implantation and loading. Daniel Wismeijer (Netherlands) presented an update on digital solutions in implant dentistry including an outlook into the future. In his presentation “Finding the optimal implant position”, David Schneider (Switzerland) discussed how guided implant surgery can lead to more precise and predictable surgical outcomes.
“I believe all participants – myself included – very much enjoyed the scientific program and the range of topics, which were all crucial to contemporary implant dentistry”, said Alex Tsai, Chair of the ITI Section Taiwan. “The two congress days were well attended and we welcomed some new ITI Members in the last few days. I think we can reach our target of 100 Taiwanese ITI members well before the end of this year.”
