Providing clinicians with cutting edge information on “Leadership in Modern Implant Therapeutics” was the aim of the ITI Congress Japan, held at the Keio Plaza Hotel in Tokyo from May 9 to 10. The strong international faculty included ITI President David Cochran, Christoph Hämmerle and William Martin along with the cream of Japanese speakers, who delivered global standard, high-level presentations.
With its comprehensive program, the two-day congress did not leave its participants disappointed: Apart from a half-day Corporate Forum, a presentation of the ITI Online Academy and an extensive industry exhibition, the program offered sessions on topics as diverse as “Digital solution for modern implant therapeutics”, “Clinical considerations from long-term results” and “Modern implant therapeutics for the esthetic zone”. A further highlight were the parallel sessions specially tailored to the needs of dental hygienists and dental technicians. According to Hideaki Katsuyama, Education Delegate for the Japanese ITI Section, feedback from participants was excellent. “They especially appreciated the high academic quality of the lectures, the outstanding performance of the speakers, the variety of different topics as well as the overall organization of the event”. Eiji Funakoshi, Chair of the Scientific Program Committee, adds that “apart from helping participants to gain a solid understanding of modern implant therapeutics, our aim was to promote the philosophy and the scientific activities of the ITI. We were extremely happy to see that we succeeded in this.” Despite the great success of the congress, he remains self-critical: “There is still room for improvement. I am sure the next edition of our congress will be even better.”
