Despite the difficult socio-economic climate in Greece, 230 implant dentistry professionals gathered in Athens in order to listen to top speakers discussing “Implants in Daily Practice: Today and Tomorrow”. The congress organized by the Hellenic Section focused on pre-surgical esthetic and reconstructive risk assessment, followed by evidence-based clinical suggestions and directions to help clinicians achieve an optimal restorative result. The lectures were presented by various speakers from Greece and Cyprus as well as William Martin and James Ruskin from the US. The congress program was well balanced and allowed plenty of opportunity for social interaction and networking as well as providing an informative industry exhibition.
“The organization of the congress exceeded the participants’ expectations and the positive feedback we received was the best possible reward at the end of the two congress days”, says Nikitas Sykaras, Chair of the Hellenic ITI Section. “The large number of participants shows us that despite the difficult situation dentists have confidence in the future and are willing to invest in knowledge and untapped clinical potential.”
