Val d’Isère in the French Alps was the perfect setting for this year’s ITI Congress France which ran under the title “The digital revolution: from surgery to prosthetics”. The 175 participants from France, Belgium and Switzerland received information on the development of recent technologies with the aim of equipping them to better evaluate how these can be used to contribute to their practice.
The two-day congress included top national and international lecturers, among them Irena Sailer, Paolo Casentini, Alessandro Devigus and Ali Tahmaseb. The highlight for many was a lecture given by François Duret, a true visionary in the field of dental CAD/CAM, who recalled the beginnings of this technology, while his colleagues Irena Sailer and Ali Tahmaseb gave an interesting glimpse into the future.
The congress, which started off with an informative pre-congress day, was also aimed at lab technicians who could learn about their contribution to surgery through planning. It also included an industry exhibition with both national and international exhibitors that was sold out.
“The feedback we have received confirms that the participants were very satisfied with the scientific program and the way the congress was organized”, said David Bourdin, ITI Communications Officer. Most of the participants also spent the evenings together in the relaxing atmosphere of one of the top skiing destinations in France. “One of the most important goals besides offering a challenging scientific program was to provide a platform for people to network and get to know each other and I think we succeeded in this undertaking”, said Dr. Bourdin.
The Section was particularly pleased to welcome some new Members to the ITI.
