With over 300 registrations, the first ITI Congress Finland that took place on September 14 and 15 in Helsinki was judged a resounding success. One of the main congress highlights was the all-day lecture entitled “When surgery meets prosthetics: from tooth extraction to the insertion of the implant reconstruction” that was given by Dr. Ronald Jung, Zurich, Switzerland (front row, third left, together with the Scientific Program Committee, congress faculty and ITI Center Events Manager Anne Rapp). His lecture offered theoretical and practical information on how to achieve optimal functional and esthetic results.
The second day was devoted to a program addressing the challenges of the posterior region in both maxilla and mandible. Finnish experts focused on contemporary surgical, prosthetic and technical aspects of advanced treatment options in partially edentulous patients.
The congress also provided a parallel program for dental technicians, hygienists and assistants with the overall aim of bringing all the various specialties involved in the surgical and prosthetic process closer together.
As a very young Section, “one of our goals is to attract new Members and to grow” says Education Delegate Juhani Laine. The congress represented an excellent step towards securing that goal.
