Providing clinicians with cutting edge information on the latest techniques in digital and conventional implant dentistry was the aim of the ITI Congress Australasia, held at the Convention and Exhibition Centre in Melbourne from September 2 to 3. The strong international faculty included German Gallucci and Eduardo Lorenzana along with the cream of Australasian speakers.
With its comprehensive program, the two-day congress had something for everyone. Apart from a presentation on the ITI Online Academy and an extensive industry exhibition, the program offered sessions on topics as diverse as “Digital implant treatment planning”, “Digital placement – guided surgery and surgical stents” and “Benefits and pitfalls of digital/guided surgery”. A further highlight was the parallel program on Saturday that was specially tailored to the needs of dental hygienists and assistants.
The 280 participants appreciated the unique combination of conventional implant treatment concepts with cutting edge technologies as well as the frank discussions of cases and techniques. “It was particularly well-received that our speakers did not just focus on their successes, but honestly discussed the limitations and pitfalls of the techniques they presented,” said Robert Santosa, Communications Officer of the Australasian ITI Section. “We are more than happy that we succeeded in offering a varied and entertaining program focusing on evidence-based treatment concepts, which are at the core of the ITI’s philosophy”.
