More than 850 professionals gathered in Venice for the ITI National Congress Italy from September 26 to 28. Held at the Palazzo del Cinema – home to the Venice Film Festival since 1937 – the congress had an appropriately sumptuous backdrop to its thought-provoking program: ’Efficacy of Implant-Prosthetic Treatment: Simplification, Predictability and Innovations for the Common Benefit of Patients and Clinicians’. The strong international faculty included Daniel Buser, Thomas Taylor, Frauke Müller, Massimo Simion, Irena Sailer and Dean Morton along with the cream of Italian speakers.
With a pre-congress course from Straumann as well as a corporate forum provided by Geistlich and a course for dental technicians, the congress weekend was truly able to provide something for everyone. Round table discussions following each session allowed participants to put questions to the speakers and debate the various points made.
With various program highlights such as optimal treatment of elderly patients and selecting the most efficient abutment with conventional or CADCAM methods, the participants were very pleased with the scientific program as well as the opportunity to spend a few days in the World Heritage city of Venice with its art, architecture and 118 islands connected by bridges.
