2013 ITI Korea Conference: Clinical Roadmap for Predictable Implant Dentistry

With around 200 implant dentistry professionals attending the ITI Korea Conference in Seoul, the congress was a great success. Various lectures were given by top national and international speakers - among them Stephen Chen and Richard Leesungbok. The topic of the conference was “Clinical Roadmap for Predcitable Implant Dentistry”.

In the morning session, the congress focused on the same five topics which were discussed at the 5th ITI Consensus Conference in Bern. Among the topics addressed were computer-assisted implant dentistry, timing for implant placement and functional loading, new strategy with narrow implants, decision making and clinical procedures for GBR, and CBCT in implant dentistry.

Richard Leesungbok, Education Delegate of the ITI Section Korea, provided practical information on full zirconia restoration using computer-assisted implant dentistry which was very much appreciated by the audience.

The highlight of the conference was the lecture by Stephen Chen, Chair of the ITI Education Core Group and Committee, who talked about “Post-extraction implant placement; Results of the 5th ITI Consensus Conference” in the afternoon. He presented informative results derived from randomized clinical trials to achieve optimal and esthetic results in post extracted sites. The audience had the opportunity to ask and discuss questions with Chen after the session.

During the conference, an interview with Richard Leesungbok and Stephen Chen about the ITI was recorded by KBS-1TV (Korean Broadcasting Service) and later shown on television.
